KT Rolster shows its potential

The BDD team beat DPlus Kia 2–1 to close the first week of competition undefeated.
After a positive 2023, qualifying to the World Championship and being third in the LCK, KT Rolster dismantled its roster to keep only BDD and reinforce its direct rivals. This did not bother him, because he bet on Perfect, a young toplaner from the academy. In the jungle, they repatriated Pyosik and also brought together Deft and Beryl to revive that world champion team with DRX in 2022.
Opposite, they had DPlus Kia, who made a renewal in their roster after the departure of Canyon to Gen G. The rise to the main roster of Lucid and the additions of Lehends in the lower lane and Kiingen in the Toplane, ended up completing a roster that has a lot of potential.
These two teams faced each other, with the goal of continuing undefeated and marked a first main scenario to see which of the two could fight for that third place and become, along with Hanwha Life, a “Dark Horse” of the LCK.
The first map went to Damwon, who bet on Kingen’s classic Aatrox against Perfect’s K’Sante. This was a starting point for the victory of DPlus, which was winning by pure macro and also by differences in the draft. KT Rolster, prioritized a Kalista shooter with an Ivern Jungle, a combination that is not very profitable. On the other hand, the potential of the DPlus draft was important, as they managed to create good plays with the combination of Maokai and Rakan, added to the damage that Xayah and Syndra could bring. First series point for DPLUS KIa in only 25 minutes.
The second map had as main protagonist the Jungle of KT Rolster, Pyosik, who was fundamental in the initiations and hunted against his rival with his Xin Zhao. It was a clear example of the Jungle GAP. Yes, KT Rolster had a hard time and DPlus put up a fight, but Pyosik’s experience was enough for KT Rolster to tie the series after 45 minutes of play.
The last map was a spectacle, where both teams fought until the end. It felt like they were playing a championship semifinal. But, in a fight in the Baron’s pit, KT Rolster, along with a great performance by PerFecT with his Gnar, managed to turn the advantage in his team’s favor and put them on track for the second victory.
After this result, KT Rolster shares the first place with Hanwha Life and Gen G after one week of competition. On the other hand, DPlus Kia sits in mid-table with a 1–1 record.
